Keihan Real Estate to develop machiya guesthouses in Kyoto
On December 6, Keihan Real Estate announced plans to enter the machiya guesthouse business in Kyoto City. The company, along with Tokyo-based real estate flipper Intellex, plans to invest 2 billion Yen (approx. 18 million USD) in restoring 10 guesthouses over the next year.
Yaesu 2-Chome redevelopment project to have minor but curious residential component
Construction of the Yaesu 2-Chome North District Category-I Urban Redevelopment Project officially started on December 3. Completion is scheduled for August 2022.
Imperial Hotel sets its sights on Kyoto
On November 28 it was reported that Imperial Hotel, Ltd. is looking to open an Imperial Hotel in Kyoto City. A major contender for the new hotel is the historic 82-year old Yasaka Kaikan building in the Gion district.
Ishikawa Prefecture’s most expensive apartments go on sale
The most expensive apartments developed in Ishikawa Prefecture since the end of the bubble era went on sale last week. The 114 apartments in The Residence Kanazawa will share the building with the Hyatt House Kanazawa hotel.
Apartments in the first round of sales were priced from 30.4 ~ 199.8 million Yen (approx. 270,000 ~ 1,775,000 USD). The largest apartment on offer is a 180.77 sqm (1,945 sq.ft), four-bedroom unit priced at 199.8 million Yen. The building is due for completion by April 2020.
Hulic opens small luxury resort in Lake Kawaguchi
On October 1, real estate corporation HULIC opened their latest small luxury resort near Lake Kawaguchi. ‘Fufu Kawaguchiko’ is part of HULIC’s Fufu brand of luxury ryokans.
Shinagawa Development Project to be completed by 2024
On September 25, East Japan Railway Company (JR-EAST) published the details of their large-scale redevelopment plans for a 9.5 hectare site on the western side of the new station on Tokyo’s JR Yamanote Line between Shinagawa and Tamachi Stations.Read more
Chiba’s Namegawa Island to be redeveloped into hotel
There are plans to redevelop the former Namegawa Island zoo and garden in Chiba Prefecture into a 228-room resort hotel. Construction on the tentatively-named Katsuura Seaside Park Resort is scheduled to start in 2020 with completion by 2024.Read more
