Instant sellout in The Tower Yokohama Kitanaka

All 730 apartments offered in the first round of sales for The Tower Yokohama Kitanaka have been sold. This was the highest number of apartments to have ever been released for sale in a building in Yokohama city in history. The 58-storey, 1,176-unit high-rise is also the largest building based on apartment-count to be built in the city since 1993.

Apartments were priced from 45 ~ 800 million Yen, with an average price of 1,200,000 Yen/sqm. The 212 sqm, 800 million Yen apartment has been the most expensive new apartment to have ever been sold in Yokohama.Read more


Tokyu expanding development of luxury condominiums in Tokyo

To cater to growing demand, Tokyu Land is expanding the development of 100 million Yen+ condominiums in central Tokyo’s six wards. They currently have four high-end projects under development in Tokyo and have increased their sales staff by 20%. Their target buyers are wealthy seniors and dual-income households.

Two of their luxury projects include Branz Roppongi The Residence (Minato-ku) and Branz Nagatacho (Chiyoda-ku). Branz Roppongi The Residence is a 51-unit, 8-storey building located 200 meters from Tokyo Midtown. Completion is scheduled for February 2019. The average apartment price is 550 million Yen (approx. 4.9 million USD), and 40% of the apartments have already sold off-the-plan.Read more


Apartments in The Tower Yokohama Kitanaka to go on sale this weekend

Over 60% of the apartments in Yokohama’s tallest condominium will go on sale this weekend, in what will be the highest number of apartments to have ever been released for sale in a building in the city. The Tower Yokohama Kitanaka is a 58-storey, 200m tall apartment building located in front of Bashamichi Station and close to Yokohama’s waterfront district.

A total of 730 apartments will be available for purchase in the first round of sales starting from November 25.  With a total of 1,176 apartments in the building, this building is the largest based on apartment count to have been developed in the city since 1993.Read more


199m tall building for Tsukishima

A 59-storey, 199m tall condominium is planned for Tsukishima - a manmade island in Tokyo Bay. A town planning decision is expected in 2018, with construction to start in 2022 and completion scheduled for 2025.

The Tsukishima 3 Chome North District Redevelopment Project will include approximately 1,120 apartments, as well as retail and childcare facilities on the lower floors.

Gaien House redevelopment to be completed by May 2020

The redevelopment of Gaien House, a condominium located just south of the new Olympic Stadium site, is expected to be completed by May 2020. Obayashi Corporation has been chosen by the owners association as the construction company.

The new building will be 23-storeys and 86 meters tall with a total floor area of 60,000 sqm. In addition to apartments, it will also have a nursery, retail and car parking.

*Update: The new condominium will be called The Court Jingu-Gaien and will have 409 apartments, of which 180 will be made available for sale. Sales are scheduled to begin in October 2018. Apartment sizes will range from 70 ~ 310 sqm.

The Parkhouse Shinjuku Gyoen has reached completion

Construction of The Parkhouse Shinjuku Gyoen, a 14-storey condominium located directly across the street from the Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden, reached completion last month.

The building contains 52 luxury residences ranging in size from 55 ~ 100 sqm (592 ~ 1,076 sq ft). When sales began back in early 2016, apartments were priced from 64 ~ 269 million Yen, with an average price of around 1,725,000 Yen/sqm.

The Parkhouse Nishi-Shinjuku Tower 60 reaches completion

Construction of Japan’s tallest apartment building based on total floor count has reached completion this month. The Parkhouse Nishi-Shinjuku Tower 60 is a 60-storey, 209 meter tall condominium located to the west of the Shinjuku business district.

It may not keep its title as the tallest building based on floor count for long - two 65~66-storey, 235m tall apartment buildings with as many as 3,200 apartments are tentatively planned for a site on the eastern side of Shinjuku’s Park Hyatt Hotel and less than 1,000 meters south of The Parkhouse.
