Standard Land Prices dip for first time in 3 years
The nationwide standard land price, announced yesterday, dropped for the first time in three years. The average across all land uses recorded a 0.6% decrease in 2020, after a 0.4% increase in 2019. In 2018, the nationwide average increased for the first time since 1991.
Commercial land prices fall in second quarter
On August 21, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) released the quarterly LOOK Report showing changes in land prices in Japan’s major cities. With July 1 as the survey point, this is the second look at land values since the pandemic began.
Rosenka land values increase nationwide for 5th year in a row
On July 1, the National Tax Agency announced the rosenka land values for 2020. Land values nationwide saw a 1.6% year-on-year increase, an improvement from the 1.3% increase seen in 2019 and the fifth year in a row to see growth.
First LOOK at land prices since pandemic
On June 19, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) published their latest quarterly LOOK Report and land prices in Japan’s major cities. With a survey point of April 1, this is the first look at land prices since COVID. Overall, 73% of the surveyed locations nationwide saw an increase in land prices, down from a 97% share in the previous quarter.
Japan’s regional land prices increase for first time in 28-years
Nationwide land prices rose for the fifth year in a row this year, but hard-hitting effects of the novel coronavirus could put a swift end to Japan’s real estate recovery.
According to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT), the nationwide ‘chika-koji’ assessed land price saw a 1.4% increase in 2020. This was a 0.2 point improvement from 2019’s 1.2% increase.
Japan land prices increase in 97% of locations, setting new record
On February 15, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) published their quarterly LOOK Report for land prices in Japan’s major cities in the fourth quarter of 2018.
According to the report, land prices increased in 97 of the 100 surveyed locations. This is the highest share in the history of reporting, beating previous records set in recent quarters. It is also the fourth consecutive quarter to see increases in over 90% of locations.
Land in Ginza to sell for 64 million Yen (570,000 USD) per square meter
Articles appearing in both the Nikkei Business Publication and the Business Journal have suggested that a block of land (with building) alongside Ginza’s main shopping street will be sold for a record price of up to 64 million Yen per square meter (approx. 570,000 USD/sqm or 53,000 USD/sq ft).
