Takanawa Gateway City plans announced
On April 21, East Japan Railway Company (JR East) announced the construction plans for the area around the recently opened Takanawa Gateway Station. A total of four high-rises and one low-rise building will be completed by 2024 ~ 2025.
Japan's tallest tower tops out in Toranomon
The 64-story skyscraper in the Toranomon-Azabudai Project topped out at 330 meters on April 21. This is now the tallest building in Japan, exceeding Osaka’s 300-meter tall Abeno Harukas building.
Apple Store Ginza Building to be demolished
The building housing the Apple Store Ginza will be demolished later this year. In 2003, this was the first Apple Store to open in Japan.
Luxury ryokan to be built in Ginza
Hulic, a major real estate company, recently announced plans to redevelop a prominent corner block in Ginza into a luxury ryokan-style hotel with an opening scheduled for 2025.
New mixed-use apartment building for Shibuya 1-Chome Address
A 14-story, 74.8-meter tall mixed-use building is planned for the former Mitake Park near Shibuya Station. This project will include a public square, retail, a multi-purpose hall, the Mitake arena for sporting events, and 26 rental apartments designed to attract creative folk and families.

Sekisui House and Nippon Life Insurance Company have officially started construction on a 150-m tall office tower near Tameike Sanno Station.
Multi-block redevelopment for eastern side of Shibuya Station
On March 24, Tokyo Tatemono announced that a city planning decision had been made for the Shibuya 2 Chome Project. Nicknamed the Shibuya Regeneration Project, it spans three large blocks just east of Shibuya Station, with a total lot size of 2.9 hectares.
