The 46-story Shibuya Scramble Square East Building officially opens today. At a height of 230 meters, this is now the tallest building in the Shibuya area.

The first fourteen floors and two basements will have 213 retailers. Floors 17 to 45 will contain office space. Major office tenants include tech-related companies CyberAgent and mixi. The total office space of 73,000 sqm (785,000 sq.ft) is the largest to be supplied in the Shibuya area. Viewing platforms are located on the 14th, 45th and 46th floors, offering sweeping views of Yoyogi Park, Mt. Fuji and the hectic Shibuya crossing below. Entrance fees to the sky deck will be 2,000 Yen. It is expected that over 1 million people will visit this new sightseeing spot each year.

The design architects of the building were Nihon Sekkei, Kengo Kuma & Associates, and SANAA Architects.

By 2028, the Shibuya Scramble Square Center (61-meters) and West Buildings (76-meters) will be completed.
