Brutalist building in Tsukiji to be demolished
Demolition of the Kenzo Tange-designed Dentsu Tsukiji Building will start on April 18. The brutalist landmark building will be flattened to make way for a multi-block redevelopment by Sumitomo Realty & Development.
Tsukiji machiya demolished
The traditional machiya-style townhouse in Tsukiji we featured back in February 2019 when it was listed for sale, has, sadly, been demolished. It will be replaced with a 5-story hotel covering the adjoining vacant lots. Completion is scheduled for February 2021.
Sales start in Atlas Tsukiji
Sales in a new condo in Tokyo’s Tsukiji district started on March 7. Atlas Tsukiji is an 11-story apartment building located just behind the Tsukiji Hongwanji temple and a 3-minute walk from Tsukiji Station.
