The 81-year old house of modernist architect Kameki Tsuchiura (1897-1996) was listed for sale over the weekend. This is a very rare property to see available.

Built in 1935, the house was designed by Tsuchiura as his personal residence. The two-storey, wood-framed residence has two bedrooms and a study on the second floor, a living/dining room with vaulted ceiling and kitchen on the ground floor, and a bathroom in the basement. The house has a registered floor area of 176 sqm (1,894 sq.ft) and is on a 285 sqm block of land. It is a 8 minute walk from Meguro Station on the Yamanote Loop Line and is 600 meters from Ebisu Garden Place.Read more


Brillia Towers Meguro Sold Out

Brillia Towers Meguro, a large-scale, mixed office and residential project under construction near Meguro Station in Tokyo, has sold out this month. The project is scheduled for completion by late 2017 / early 2018.

The two residential towers will contain 940 apartments. 279 of those will go to original landowners, while the remaining 661 were made available for sale.

Sales began in early June 2015. The sales office had already received 23,000 requests for property brochures before the first round of sales. The model room, which opened in early April, could only be visited by appointment and was booked out two months in advance. Over 9,000 groups visited the model room.Read more


Signs of life for vacant site between Daikanyama and Nakameguro

The large and vacant plot of land located between Daikanyama and Nakameguro may finally see some activity as the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and Meguro Ward have announced that they are seeking tenders from developers for the 8,500 sqm site.

The land was previously the site of lodgings for the Japanese National Railway Settlement Corporation (JNRSC). The property was acquired by the Tokyo Government and Meguro Ward in 1995 for approximately 6.4 billion Yen. Initial plans were for an aged-care facility and public housing.Read more

Japanese magazine model and hosiery designer, Moe Oshikiri, has lent her design skills to a new condominium in Meguro-ku. The complex was developed by Veritas Investment and completed on February 23rd.Read more
