According to Tokyo Kantei the average asking price of a 70 sqm (753 sq.ft) second-hand apartment across greater Tokyo was 37,100,000 Yen in November 2018, up 2.3% from the previous month and up 2.5% from the previous year. The average building age was 24.4 years.

According to Tokyo Kantei the average asking price of a 70 sqm (753 sq.ft) second-hand apartment across greater Tokyo was 36,250,000 Yen in October, down 0.3% from the previous month but up 1.2% from last year. The average building age was 24.4 years.
Apartment rents in Tokyo increase for 11th month
According to Tokyo Kantei, the average monthly rent for an apartment in Tokyo’s 23 wards was 3,526 Yen/sqm in October 2018, up 0.6% from the previous month and up 6.6% from last year. This is the 11th month in a row to see a year-on-year increase.

Apartment rents in Tokyo increase for 10th month in a row
The average apartment rent in Tokyo’s 23 wards has increased year-on-year for the 10th month in a row. The average monthly rent in September was 3,504 Yen/sqm, up 6.6% from last year and up 1.2% from the previous month. Both Yokohama and Saitama cities saw a decline in year-on-year rents.
Average apartment rents in Tokyo increase for 8th month
According to Tokyo Kantei, the average monthly rent of a condominium in Tokyo’s 23 wards was 3,481 Yen/sqm in July, down 0.1% from the previous month but up 5.4% from last year. This is the 8th month in a row to see a year-on-year increase. The average apartment size was 55.40 sqm and the average building age was 18.9 years.Read more
Nagoya’s most expensive rental apartments to arrive in 2019
A 28-story rental apartment building under construction in Nagoya’s Sakae neighborhood is set to become the most expensive building the city has seen. The most expensive apartments in the 156-unit building are two 253 sqm (2,722 sq.ft) 3-Bedroom units on the 27th floor each with an advertised rent of 1,641,000 Yen per month (approx. 15,000 USD).
