Metropolitan apartment prices rise for the third consecutive month.

Tokyo-Kantei Co., Ltd. released their figures on the average apartment prices in March for the three major Japanese metropolitan areas.

The average apartment price for all three areas combined was 29.3 million Yen (up 1.1% from the previous month). Compared to the same period from the previous year, the average price has increased by 3.5%.

The following areas experienced an increase in the average apartment prices in March:

  • Tokyo: 39,020,000 Yen (up 1.2% from the previous month)
  • Saitama-ken: 18,140,000 Yen (up 0.4% from the previous month)
  • Chiba-ken: 18,410,000 Yen (up 1.2% from the previous month)
  • Osaka-shi: 18,970,000 Yen (up 0.2% from the previous month)
  • Hyogo-ken: 18,250,000 Yen (up 0.2% from the previous month)

Kanagawa-ken experienced a decline of 0.1% in the average price from the previous month to 24,770,000 Yen.

Prices in the Kinki-region (Osaka, Kyoto, Nara) experienced a decline of 0.1% from the previous month to 18,360,000 Yen. From the beginning of the year, the rising trend in prices began to slow.

The Chubu-region had an average apartment price of 15,490,000 Yen (up 1.5% from the previous month), with Aichi-ken experiencing an increase of 1.4% to 15,670,000 Yen.
