Town planning decision for 200m tall tower in Nishiazabu

A town planning decision has been made for the Nishiazabu 3 Chome North-East District Redevelopment. The project will see a 200 meter tall mixed-use tower with residences, office, retail and a hotel. Construction is scheduled to start in 2020 2022 2023 with completion tentatively scheduled for 2025 2026 2028.

Homat Woodville converted to condominium

The former Homat Woodville apartment building, now called Woodville Azabu, in Nishiazabu has been converted into a condominium with apartments to be sold off individually as tenants move out.

Sales started in February 2017 with three apartments offered for sale. All three were immediately sold, including a 185 sqm (1,991 sq ft) apartment priced at 298,000,000 Yen (approx. 2.64 million USD). Additional apartments ranging from 141 sqm (268,000,000 Yen) to 178 sqm (328,000,000 Yen) were later offered for sale.Read more

This is a 9-story, 41-unit apartment building developed by Morimoto in the Nishiazabu 4 Chome neighbourhood. It is located 25 meters from Nisseki-dori Street and 280 meters from Hiroo Garden Hills.

The building was completed in May 2018 with apartments delivered to buyers from June 2018.

The site was originally home to a residence designed by famed architect Yoshimura Junzo. The 48-year old house was demolished in 2016. Read more


APA breaks ground on new residential project in Nishiazabu

Hotel and apartment developer, APA Group, broke ground on a new high-end condominium project in Nishiazabu’s 4 Chome address earlier this month.

The Conoe Nishiazabu will be a 6-storey building containing just 16 spacious residences. The one and two bedroom apartments will range in size from 82 ~ 157 sqm (882 ~ 1,689 sq.ft), with an average size of 120 sqm. The typical size of a 3-Bedroom apartment in Tokyo is around 70 square meters, so these one and two bedroom apartments will have considerably spacious layouts.Read more


53-storey hotel and residential complex for Nishiazabu

Redevelopment discussions are moving forward for a prime site located directly across the street from Roppongi Hills. Although details are still under discussion, the project could be a mixed-use tower containing a 100-room hotel and 370 rental and condominium-type apartments.

According to a 2015 Investor Relations publication by Nomura Real Estate, the development may include a 53-storey tower with construction scheduled to start in 2018 and be completed by as early as 2022. It is possible that government allowances could result in a taller building than previously proposed.Read more


Yoshimura Junzo house in Nishiazabu demolished

A house designed by modernist architect Yoshimura Junzo (1907-1997) in central Tokyo’s Nishiazabu neighbourhood has been demolished.

The ‘Tagakicho House’ was built in 1968 and was a 2-storey reinforced concrete house with a basement. The total size of the house was 624 sqm (6,714 sq.ft). It was constructed by Takenaka Corporation - one of Japan’s biggest construction companies.Read more
