The Japanese government is working on creating an online resource that will provide information on land values (government assessed values, not market values), town planning, and risk maps all in one place.

The tentatively named Land and Real Estate Information Library will make it easier for buyers to conduct research before making a purchase. Currently, this information is dispersed across various websites and government offices, making it a time-intensive process to conduct even the most basic due diligence.

The site will collate information on land price movements, flood and other risk maps, zoning, town planning, and school zones in an easy-to-use format. Roll-out is expected in 2024.
