Apartment asking price in Tokyo climbs for 21st month

According to Tokyo Kantei, the average asking price of a 70 sqm (753 sq.ft) second-hand apartment in Tokyo’s 23 wards climbed for the 21st month in a row to 67,840,000 Yen as of March 2022. This is a 1.2% increase from February and a 10.5% increase from last year.

Tokyo’s central six wards of Chiyoda, Chuo, Minato, Shinjuku, Bunkyo, and Shibuya had an average price of 96,960,000 Yen, up 8.7% from last year and the 6th month in a row to see a month-on-month increase.

Across Osaka Prefecture the average price increased by 0.8% from the previous month to 30 million Yen. This is the first time the price has reached this range in history. In Osaka’s central six wards the average price was 49,220,000 Yen, up 6.1% from last year.
