As part of the Nihonbashi 1 Chome East District Redevelopment, a proposal for a 52-story apartment tower and 40-story office tower has been announced.

Participating developers include Mitsui Fudosan, Tokyu Land, Nippon Steel Kowa Real Estate, and Shimizu Corporation.

Tower A will be a 240-meter tall, 40-story office tower with construction to take place between 2026 and 2030. Tower B, which will be on the site of the current Nihonbashi Post Office Building, will be a 225-meter tall, 52-story residential tower that will also include serviced apartments. Construction is scheduled to take place between 2031 and 2034.

On the opposite side of Nihonbashi River, a 2,200 sqm public park will be created. The site is currently home to several mid-size commercial buildings.

The development site is sandwiched between Showa-dori Street and the Shuto Expressway Inner Circular Route. It is across the street from the Nihonbashi 1 Chome Central District Redevelopment which will see a 284-meter tall, 52-story mixed-use tower with the Waldorf Astoria Hotel on the upper floors. That project is tentatively scheduled for completion in late 2025.
