Existing apartment prices in Tokyo up 3.4% in 2019

The average asking price of a 70 sqm (753 sq.ft) existing apartment in Tokyo’s 23 wards reached 55,660,000 Yen in 2019, up 3.4% from 2018. The average building age was 24.5 years, up from an average of 23.5 years in 2018.

Average prices are now up 40% from the previous low seen in 2012.

Yokohama City saw asking prices drop 0.6% from 2018 to 30,890,000 Yen. Asking prices in Yokohama have increased by 19.2% since 2012.

Osaka City recorded an 8.6% increase in 2019 to 32,720,000 Yen, and a 53.3% increased from 2012.
