Last month, the average asking price of a 70 sqm second-hand apartment in central Tokyo’s six wards (Chiyoda, Chuo, Minato, Shinjuku, Shibuya, and Bunkyo) exceeded the 80 million Yen mark. This is the highest level seen since real estate data provider Tokyo Kantei began keeping records in 2002.
Asking prices in central Tokyo increased by 1.3% from the previous month to 80,650,000 Yen. This is the 8th consecutive month of increases. Asking prices are now up 7.1% from last year.
The average asking price across Tokyo’s 23 wards was 57,640,000 Yen, up 2.3% from the previous month and up 7.0% from last year.
