A Tokyo-based real estate company has acquired a 91-year old townhouse in Tokyo’s Nihonbashi district with plans to refurbish it into an event space. Reservations will start from April 15.

Musubeya Nihonbashi Madoka is a two-story machiya-style townhouse built in 1928. It sits at the end of an alleyway and is 500 meters from the historic Nihonbashi bridge. The house has a total floor area of 62 sqm (667 sq.ft). Traditional, pre-war homes like this are becoming incredibly scarce in central Tokyo.

Event space rates range from 2,980 ~ 10,000 Yen (25 ~ 90 USD) per hour or 39,800 ~ 59,800 Yen (355 ~ 535 USD) per day. Reservations can be made via Spacemarket (https://www.spacemarket.com/spaces/musubeyanihonbashi/).
