Apa Hotel Resort Yokohama Bay Tower 1

APA Group will be developing a 37-storey hotel on a waterfront site in downtown Yokohama. With 2,400 guest rooms and a total floor area of 58,000 sqm, this hotel will have the highest room count in a single building in Japan.

The APA Hotel & Resort Yokohama Bay Tower is scheduled to open in 2019. APA acquired the 8,328 sqm site in Kaigandori 5 Chome, Naka Ward from the Urban Renaissance Agency in January  for 16.71 billion Yen (approx. 140 million USD). It is a 3 minute walk from Bashamichi Station and is walking distance to the Minatomirai District, the historic downtown area and Chinatown.

APA are also expanding the APA Hotel & Resort Tokyo Bay Makuhari in Chiba City. The 49-storey tower, with 1,001 guest rooms, was completed in 1993. In April 2014, a West Tower with 500 rooms was completed. There are plans to open an East Tower, with 500 rooms, by October 2016, which will bring the total room count to 2,001. The hotel is popular with guests visiting the Tokyo Disney Resort, and has been operating at a 93% occupancy rate since the West Tower opened last year.
