This is a traditional-style Japanese house and gardens located 2.3 kilometres from Gora Station and 1.5km from Kowakudani Station.
The house is located in a private position with no nearby neighbours. Although there are several resort villas/apartments down the street, this is the only house in the immediate area. It sits on a 1,280 square meter block of freehold land with a landscaped and carefully maintained Japanese garden.
The house is a single storey bungalow home with an onsen in the basement. It has four bedrooms (two are tatami rooms), separate living and dining rooms, and outdoor parking. The windows were imported from Germany at a cost of approximately 1 million Yen per frame. It is said that the house cost 800 million Yen to construct back in the 1960s.

Hakone is a mountain-top hot spring resort area located 75 km south-west of Tokyo and 30 km south-east of Mt. Fuji. The town has a history dating back to at least the 1600s and was an integral point on the old Tokaido Road where it was a security checkpoint to control people coming and going from Tokyo.
In 2015, the town welcomed 17 million tourists. Although the town is close enough to Tokyo for day trips, approximately 80% of the town’s tourists stay in accommodation.
