About Hayama:

Hayama is a historically wealthy summer vacation home area. It is home to an Imperial Family Villa, two Michelin-star restaurants (Hikagechaya and Taku-tei),  a marina and several beaches.

The resident population in as at May 2017 was 31,984, while the neighbouring city of Zushi has a population of around 57,000.

The British Sailing Team will be setting up a training camp in Hayama between July and October each year for the next three years in preparation for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Olympic sailing events are scheduled to take place between Enoshima and Hayama. The team will be staying at a corporate retreat located about a kilometer from this house. Sailing teams from other countries have also started making inquiries about setting up a temporary base in the town.
