Narrow house returns to market with wide markup

One of Tokyo’s narrowest homes returned to the market last month with a 80% markup on its previous asking price. At just 140 cm (55 inches) wide, this is a contender for the narrowest home in the city. To put that in perspective, a Queen size bed is 153 cm wide, while a classic Mini car is 141 cm wide.

The 62 sqm (667 sq.ft) home in Setagaya Ward is listed for 71.9 million Yen (approx. 640,000 USD). It was previously listed for sale back in 2015 when new.

The land is 2.6 meters wide and 34 meters long. The lot was once the driveway for a larger house at the rear, and later subdivided.
