Tamachi TGMM Shibaura Project

Tokyo Gas, Mitsui Fudosan and Mitsubishi Jisho announced plans for the redevelopment of a 2.8 hectare site behind Tamachi Station in Minato-ku.

The TGMM Shibaura Project will include:

  • Office Tower (A): 180m tall; 31 floors.
  • Office Tower (B): 185m tall; 36 floors.
  • Hotel: 65m tall; 9 floors.
  • Welfare Center: 35m tall; 6 floors.

Construction is expected to start in 2015 and should be completed by 2019.

The Tamachi Station area, along with Shinagawa Station and the proposed new station to be located between these two stations on the Yamanote Line, form part of Tokyo’s international strategic zones, or ‘Asia Headquarter Zone’.

Disaster Preparedness

The outdoor space and part of the office buildings’ common areas will be able to temporarily accommodate up to 1,500 people in the event that they are unable to return home in a disaster. Emergency supplies and rations will also be stored on site.

Neighboring development

The area next to the TGMM Shibaura Project is also being redeveloped. It will include a park, the Minato Park Shibaura sports centre, and will be the new site of the Aiiku Hospital, which is moving from its current location near Arisugawa Park in Minato-ku.
